2006/09/06: Toyota vs VPD Cruiser
I didn't have a chance to talk to any of the VPD offcicers since they're all busy. I've submitted these to Sing Tao, they can talk to VPD's press liason officer, Howard Chow, to find out.
As you can see from the last foto, the Indo-Cdn driver of the Toyota was taken to hospital. The VPD officer, I was told, was fine.

2006/08/25: Toyota 4Runner rolled - 1600 Block W. King Edward Ave
When I got to the scene of the accident around 12:40, the elderly male driver had already been taken to hospital. The police did not know the cause of the accident but it was a one-car accident. So my deduction is that the driver had some kind of "health issue".
Whoever you are, I wish you a speedy recovery. The female passenger was tight-lipped but unhurt.

2006/08/19: BC Cancer Foundation Weekend to End Breast Cancer fundraising walk
Bill caught my eyes among the muscle cars...Turned out he's volunteer marshall for the BC Cancer Foundation's "The Weekend to End Breast Cancer" fundraiser walk. The track of the walk cross the Hippie Daze Car show: The Weekend to End Breast Cancer

2006/08/19: Hippie Daze Car Show
I took over 100 fotos for this event and shot only half the cars... and as at 8/21 I've used up 91% of my monthly upload, So I'll have to ration my uploads judicously... So come back in Sept to see more fotos.

2006/08/06: Vancouver Pride Parade
The first set I posted was the 2005 Vancouver Pride Parade...

2006/07/26: HSBC Celebration of Light - Fireworks

  • ITA - Day 1. I've taken these fotos FREEHAND. OK, I admit I cheated. I leaned on a hydro pole and used the hydro pole instead of a tripod...
  • CHN - Day 2
  • MEX - Day 4. This were shot using a 300 mm lens placed on a railing. I don't claim that these are good. I forgot my tripod...
The best way to see these sets is of course to use the "VIEW AS SLIDESHOW" option.

2006/04/18: Safeway Canada employees and Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon
I was shopping at Safeway in Oakridge and an announcement was made over the PA that a cheque-giving ceremony is being held. Safeway Canada employees raised in 2005 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation $52,787.
Since 2001, Safeway Canada employees have given to the H&SF $216,929.
Well done.

What has this got to do with me other than just happening to be there? When my father passed away, all donations were given to the H&S Foundation.

I know, I know, I know, it's not officially winter yet. But whatever they call that day is what logically should be mid-winter. Think about it.
